About Me
… about Joachim Peter Guth
I was halfway crying.
My father wanted me to join the sports club he was playing for since his early childhood.
Against my will he dropped me at the sports field to attend my first practice session. He left me alone there. I was only seven and extremely shy, I did not know anyone. I could hardly open my mouth to say hello to the coach and the other players.
I hated my father for this.
Proud to tell, I survived my first practise session happier and more confident than I ever expected.
Today, 60 years later, I am grateful, that my father threw me into the unwanted and unpleasant experience.
Sports determined my life from then on.
Till today my way of life and work is heavily influenced by the experience of playing and coaching in competitive team sports.
Successful teams are pulling on the same string, supporting each other, are having the same goal in mind and celebrate their successes together. It is an “amalgaming” experience.
Although I can not jump and run anymore, I am still unconsciously applying the same principles.
